Today marks the 30th anniversary of “Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back” and there was a large celebration at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
I was hired to cover the celebration as an audio engineer. The main focus was on a small, but very popular character Boba Fett.
Boba Fett was first introduced in “Empire” and was featured in most episodes after that. Through out the day we interviewed all 3 people that have played Fett as well as other characters in the Star Wars world.
I spent the last week shooting b-roll for Disney. Was a long week and I am glad that it is over. Only managed to shoot on picture and that was from my parking spot…
A few years back ABC News sent me to the storied Suwannee River as an Audio Engineer. With me was Cameraman Al Durruth, a producer and our correspondat Jeffery Kofman. This is still one of my favorite stories so it deserves to be retold!
Our task was to tell the story of the “Jumping Sturgeon”.
Apparently there are prehistoric fish that can weigh many hundreds of pounds that jump 5-10 feet in the air. These fish are so large and heavy that when they jump infront of a boater there is great possibility of injury and even death.
Well, the fish were easy to find, but getting video of them was another story. At times it was as if the water was boiling with jumping fish, but no matter where the camera was pointed they would not jump there. It was very frustrating but in the end we got the story. Jeffery Kofman wrote a great post about it on the ABC News Blog, Fishing for the Shot
Today I shot a quick video of the Christan Rock Band MercyMe in Disney’s Animal Kingdom doing a cover of “Wanna be Like You”. A very fun band to work with… Enjoy:
On July 3rd thousands of immigrants became naturalized citizens in a ceremony performed in front of Cinderella’s Castle. I was hired by Disney to cover the event as an ENG camera operator and the majority of this video was shot by me. Enjoy
